Clermont wants your big ideas for 2026.
The City of Clermont is officially kicking off its "Comprehensive Plan Update," and they aren't just doing it behind closed doors. Starting in mid-February, the city is hosting a "Planning Charrette". A multi-day workshop where you can actually sit down with designers and city staff to map out how Clermont should look over the next 20 years. They’re specifically looking at downtown and the northwest quadrant.
Why should we care? If you’ve ever complained about a new building or a lack of green space, this is your "put up or shut up" moment. It’s a rare chance to help draw the roadmap for our home before the concrete is poured.
Before the Weekend Hits
US-192 Resurfacing: Watch out on Wednesday and Thursday nights (8 PM – 6 AM). The lanes will be closed from Bali Road to Town Center West for milling. If you're heading toward the attractions or Kissimmee, give yourself an extra 15 minutes. (FDOT Lake County)
I-4 Westbound Closures: There will be single lane closures on I-4 West over the Tomoka River on Thursday night for sign installation. It might not hit your daily commute, but it’ll sting if you’re coming back late from the coast. (FDOT Lake County)
SR 408 to I-4 Ramp: Starting Sunday night (Feb 8), the eastbound SR 408 ramp to eastbound I-4 is shutting down overnight for concrete work. Stick to the Michigan Street detour. (FDOT)
